Obituary of Josephine Joan Allinger

Josephine "Pheeney" Allinger, age 87, of Darien, entered into eternal life on November 19, 2022. She was born and raised in Stamford and was the daughter of Harry Hand and Mary Takoris. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Leonard "Charlie" Allinger; her daughter, Joanne Allinger; her brother, Robert Hand and Sally Hand, her brother in law, William Allinger; Hazel & Ralph Williams; Mildred & Nick DeAngelis. Her memory will be cherished by her sister, Gayle Hand; her sister in law, Mary Allinger; her son, Charlie Allinger; her daughters, Helen Allinger, Janene Pahoulis & Julie Andrews; her grandchildren, Cherie & Aimee Allinger, Debbie & Josh Andrews, Maria Pahoulis and her great grandson, Shane, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Josephine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, homemaker & grandmother. You would find her cooking meals, listening to country music, gardening, planning holiday gatherings, bringing lunches to her husband and son at Allinger Machine tool & die shop and helping anyone out who needed a hand. She loved all animals. Her heart and generosity were enormous. She loved her daily chats with Gayle and Mary. She will be missed by many. Josephine was lovingly cared for by her devoted daughter, Helen, at home. The family would like to extend thanks to Waveny Visiting Nurse & Hospice for their care and compassion. There will be no calling hours. A private ceremony will he held at a later date.
