Patrice Katz

Obituary of Patrice Katz

Patrice M Katz, RD, CDN, CNSC, passed away on Thursday, May 19, after a lengthy battle with cancer that she fought with dignity and grace. Born on April 28, 1956, in Grafton, North Dakota, Patrice was raised by her parents, Bernadette and Ralph Michalski. Patrice graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of North Dakota, and through advanced studies became a Registered Dietician. She was a beloved and active member of Delta Gamma Sorority, and stayed in close contact with many of her sisters over the years. Patrice adored life, smiled often, and lived with great enthusiasm. She spent many weekends rollerblading with her daughters, gardening, enjoying concerts, and hiking with her dog and friends. She loved BBQs and flamingos and laughing. To many she was known for her vibrant red hair that would often take on shades of purple/orange/pink throughout her life. She marched to the beat of her own drum, and encouraged others to do the same. She was a deeply compassionate and loyal friend and was held in high esteem by her peers and professional community. Patrice is survived by her two daughters, Cecily Katz and Thea Katz. Patrice was predeceased by her husband Gerald M Katz. In lieu of flowers, Cecily and Thea would deeply appreciate your financial support to help settle their mom’s affairs.
