Obituary of Jairo Edgar Alarcon

Jairo Edgar Alarcon, 63, of Norwalk, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at home surrounded by his devoted family. Jairo was the eldest of 5, born on January 1st, 1959, in Cali, Colombia to Gonzalo Alarcon and Flor Campos. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1972 and lived the rest of his life in Connecticut. Jairo was an insurance agent for NY Life after dedicating his talents to Beiersdorf, Inc. for over 30 years. He and his wife, Irene Alarcon, committed to honor and love each other in marriage since 1987. Jairo was the most caring father to five children. Jairo will be remembered as a dedicated father, husband, brother, grandfather, and follower of Christ. He greatly enjoyed watching sports, learning about the latest technology, and spending time with his family. Jairo was also heavily involved within the community. He volunteered with the local Zeus swim team, Ed’s Flavor Fusion catering, Blessed Sacrament Congregation, and Kairos Prison Ministry. Jairo’s humor and laughter were infectious to all; he lit up every room he entered. Jairo will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Jairo is survived by all his children, Marisol Vigil, Maria Alarcon, Jairo Alarcon Jr., Ileana Alarcon, and Silvana Alarcon; his wife, Irene Alarcon; his sisters, Argenis Alarcon, Diana Alarcon, Samaris Alarcon, and Rocio Alarcon; and 10 grandchildren. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, February 4th, 2022 at St. Philip Catholic Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk.
