In my 51 year old box of memories, among my favorites are the family times we had in Connecticut...To this day, the smell of clams and corn on the grill remind me of the lazy Saturday afternoon when family was all around...engaging in good food, laughter, and libations...the cool evening came in and I still smell the woodsmoke of the grill and the laughter, antics, and smiles from our family. Aunt Betty was always so hospitable and even though we all lived apart, never forgot a birthday or holiday to show her love. She always shared a laugh...time is so short...yet she lived a long, long life. With love, Aunt Betty...Enjoy heaven, where I know you will be...

We lovingly referred to Aunt Betty (Barbara Darcey's Aunt, and our Great Aunt) as Beautiful Aunt Betty (BAB). We remember her wonderful giggle, her enjoyment of getting together with family during the holidays, and her kindness and generosity. She loved her daughter, Frances, immensely and was so grateful for Frances' TLC over the years. She was a loyal and trusted sister, a devoted Mother, a fun-loving Aunt and Great Aunt, and a friend to many. May she rest in eternal peace in the warm embrace of family and friends who predeceased her. Frances, may you take comfort in good memories and know that your devotion to BAB and her care sustained her for many happy years. In sympathy, family, and friendship, Andrea and Alex Ellinger and pups

While this breaks my heart, my Aunt Betty was blessed with a long life, as is not so promised...The Aunt Betty I remember was one of laughter...she could laugh off the small stuff. She was always kind. My fondest memories were of the cookouts we would have at her house in Stamford...when I think of them, I can smell the charcoal smoke from the grill baking the clams, corn on the cob, oysters, burgers and dogs...and hear the laughter of our relatives...swatting the skeeters by the evening fire...while the adults enjoyed laughter about the good times...libations, card games...and marshmellows for the kids. My Aunt Betty never missed a birthday or Christmas for her nieces and nephews and we always felt special. She holds the dearest of places in my mom's heart...as the baby of the family, she and Betty were close throughout the years. Aunt Betty, you live on in our hearts...be with the angels and laugh with them. Your niece (Melly's daughter), Sharon Skibinski Kissick

My Aunt Betty....I will always remember what a sweet lady she was to us and treated me and my sis as if we were her grand kids she never had! I always remember the fun times had in the back yard of 84 Clearview Ave! The parents had way more fun than us kids but I remember clearly of all the good food, laughs and the dancing fun had by all. The laughs and gatherings around the kitchen table! I know my Aunt had some memory loss in the end but at least the rest of us can remember the good old days and relive them for her but ultimately she is on the best place now. As my sis said, Aunt Betty never missed sending us a card with a treat for for us every single birthday and holiday and when she could not see very well later in life her Frances wrote out the cards for her. I love you Aunt Betty and I know you are up there with Helen, Mary, Al and your parents having a grand old time! With love, Sandy

There are too many memories that would create too long of a story. I loved her and will remember her in my daily prayers. I am glad that we stayed in touch all of these past years. I hope that she is finally at peace and I will miss our phone calls. Love, Sister Melly

My Aunt Betty was fondly known to me as BAB (Beautiful Aunt Betty). When I mentioned those three special initials to my family, there was always a smile on my face. I have so many love filled memories and holidays of time spent together at Helen and Harrys that now mean more than ever. Our familys traditional recipes continue to bring joy and a story each time they are made. BAB will always be remembered in our hearts and forever missed by her daughter Frances, who devoted to her a lifetime of love and kindness.
May you Rest In Peace.

Spaghetti Betty, I always loved your sense of humor, you could be cantankerous in one instant and then laugh in another. I enjoyed being your " boyfriend" as Frances would call me, I will miss you and am grateful for the the experience of having you as a faithful customer and the joy of knowing you.
Love,
