Obituary of E. Irene Ochsner

E. Irene Kochan Ochsner passed away on May 6, 2014. She was born in Bridgeport, CT. on February 25, 1919. Her education included graduating from Bassick High School and then the Butler Business School. She began her years of employment at Dictaphone in the Accounting Department. Irene also worked at L.B. Tire Exchange as an office manager and retired in 1985 from Robertshaw as the Executive Secretary to the Vice President and General Manager. Irene enjoyed skiing with her husband Rolf every winter and became quite skilled after many seasons at Stratton. During the summer months she and Rolf enjoyed extensive traveling around the globe. She was an avid reader and particularly liked mystery novels. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Mary Kochan, her sister Goldie Staurovsky, her brother John Kochan and nephews Russell and Ronald Staurovsky. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rolf Ochsner and his daughter Lylette Macdonald, her nieces Linda Staurovsky, Anne Staurovsky and Nancy Staurovsky , her nephew Neal Kochan and her sister-in-law Mary Kochan. A Memorial Service will be held 2 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Meadow Ridge Retirement Community 100 Redding Road Redding, CT. A reception will follow in the Pub Room immediately following the service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
