Adair Miller

Obituary of Adair Miller

Adair (Dusty) Miller passed away peacefully in Norwalk on February 22, following a two-year wrestling match with cancer. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Elise, daughters Stephanie, of Lafayette, CO, and Paige, of San Francisco, CA, two sons-in-law, and two young grandsons. Dusty was born in Washington, DC, grew up in Andover, MA, and graduated from Lawrence University, Appleton, WI, and the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth, Hanover, NY. He was a private pilot and a natural, gifted sailor, and spent most of his working years in the commercial banking and real estate finance industries. Dusty was an active volunteer in the offices of the Human Service Council in Norwalk. For several years he attended First Church Congregational in Fairfield, participating enthusiastically in the Chancel Choir. On many weekends he worked with Habitat for Humanity building houses, and more recently he worked with Westbridge, Inc., a coalition of individuals who formed a working group to do essential repair projects for people who own their home but are in financial need, in order to provide a safe and reasonably comfortable shelter. Westbridge also assists local churches and other charitable organizations with repairs to their facilities. For anyone so motivated, a donation to Westbridge would be welcome, and can be sent to Westbridge, Inc. c/o Michelle Dore, 73 Betty's Lane, New Canaan, Ct. 06840 . A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  To extend condolences to the family, please go to nutmegcremation.com.
