I am so sorry to discover that Virginia Sarvalon is dead and that her dear little school is closed. She was such an unusual person, a real original, with her own ideas about education. When I dropped my children off there, I always enjoyed her greeting and felt comfortable sending my children down the music-filled hallway in the morning. I am very grateful for the launch she gave my children into education and the social life of schooling. Rest in peace.

There are no words to I'm sure assuage your grief, but be consoled by the knowledge that Virginia was such a light in literally thousands of children's lives. All 3 of my children attended Canaan Ridge beginning in 1984 thru 1993. They are now fully grown adults and are explorers, thinkers, lovers of life on all levels and so much of it attributable to their beginnings of education with Virginia. I will always be thankful for finding her little sanctuary in the country and knowing my babies were safe, protected and inspired to greatness. Shannon Murray ( mom of Lyndsay, Brandon, and Devon.)
