Obituary of John Savage

John Armstrong Savage, born in Seattle in 1922. Grew up in Los Angeles and attended UCLA until joining the Merchant Marines at the outbreak of World War 2. After the war, commenced his career in radio and television, then as a filmmaker traveling the world to create award-winning film shorts for foreign governments. He subsequently helped launch corporate communications at GTE in Stamford. He obtained an MA from Manhattanville College, where he occasionally taught film and video production. In his later years, he gave multimedia presentations to associations in Fairfield County on local history and maintained a blog on Shakespeare, a lifelong passion, and related topics. Died December 26, 2015. He is survived by his sister Mildred, ex-wife Nadine, children Danielle and John, and grandchildren Lucas and Julian. “If it be / now, ‘tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be / now; if it be not now, yet it will come.
