Obituary of Mamie R. Franklin

Mrs. Mamie R. Franklin. Mrs. Mamie Monroe Franklin 68, of Bridgeport, formerly of Stamford, died Monday, January 6, 2014 at her home in Bridgeport. At the time of her death, she was retired from her work at First County Bank. Mrs. Franklin was born January 14, 1946 in Stamford, CT. Her parents were the late Daniel A. Monroe Sr. and Mrs. Theresa Leak Monroe. She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Aleta C. "Kandy" Franklin-Williams (Alvin), Sisters; Mrs. Florence Armistead (Wayne), Mrs. Juanita Fischer, Mrs. Gloria J. Rogut, Mrs. Nena Draeger (Brent), two brothers; William Bruce Monroe (Mary) and Daniel A. Monroe Jr., four grandchildren; Doris V. Plummer, Anius Z. Williams, Aquiera S. Williams and Layla K. Franklin., and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Franklin was predeceased by her son, Lawrence Edward Kelly Franklin. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., in Stamford, CT.
