Obituary of William Evans

William (Bill) E. Evans, 88, of Trumbull, CT, previously of Stamford, CT, and Chicago, IL, died peacefully in his home on September 29, 2015. He is survived by his wife Terry (Therese), 7 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill graduated from the Merchant Marine Gallops Island Radio Training Station in MA, at the end of World War II. He also served in the infantry during the Korean War. Bill was a Salesman and Account Executive with American Can Co. and was instrumental in the design and manufacture of numerous food containers. He also spent 9 years with J. L. Clark Packaging Co. One of his greatest joys was in the role of Santa Claus, that he played for 17 years. Recognized for his full white natural beard, Bill was well-known as the Santa at the Mitchells store in Westport, CT and Richards in Greenwich, CT. He also volunteered to spread The Christmas Spirit to everyone. Bill's life will be celebrated on Saturday, November 7th at 10:00 A.M. in New Life Church, 28 Hedgehog Rd., Trumbull, CT.
