Obituary of Barbara Edgar Spitzer

Barbara Edgar Spitzer died all too soon at age 78 on July 5, 2015 from cancer. She is much missed by her loving husband Don, to whom she was married for 56 years, by her three sons Andrew, David, and Donald, their wives, Julie, Laurie, and Yvonne, seven grandchildren - Andrea, Lisa, Nadia, Nikki, Owen , Zoe and Quincey, and her brother Al. She was passionate about the rights of those people who were less fortunate and worked with various political, peace, and humanitarian groups to help others. She received a Ph.D. from New York University and in her profession as a clinical psychologist, she touched and improved the lives of many, many people. Barbara was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stamford and a memorial service will be held there at a later date. Contributions in her memory can be made to Lutheran World Relief or to another charity that helps those in great need. Arrangements under the care of Nutmeg State Cremation Society, Stamford.
