Obituary of John Subrizi
John Salvatore Subrizi born August 13, 1926 passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 after a long battle with Cancer. John was born in the Bronx New York and moved to Stamford in 1979. He was married to Anne Devlin Subrizi for 57 years and served in the Navy in World War II. He was self-employed and owned Paris Artist Material Company and also the founder of the Senior Tennis Program at Scalzi Park where he taught for nearly 25 years with his wife. Besides his wife he is survived by his son John Subrizi of Stamford, his daughter Anne Mckee and her husband Brian of New York City, his daughter Margaret Gentile and her husband Edward of Stamford, and his son Paris Subrizi of Denver Colorado. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren; Devin, Frank, and Kelly Mckee, Jane and Carlee Gentile to whom he bragged about constantly. He was predeceased by his brothers Ernest and Joseph Subrizi, his sisters, Ella Fogliano, Lucy LaScolea and Nora Verdini. He is survived by his baby Sister Vera Caporale of Ridgefield, cousin John Arzonetti of Sarasota, Florida and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Leo's Church 24 Roxbury Rd in Stamford on Monday, March 16th at 10 am. Arrangements are under the care of the Nutmeg State Cremation Society.
