When a loved one passes, you need an outlet for your grief. This is typically when you start looking for ways and means of keeping that person’s memory alive. Some families keep photographs or paintings or even videos of the person, within easy access. However, there are a number of different ways to memorialize your loved one after the service, such as:

1. Create Unique Memorial Jewelry

This is something that has been done for decades, but it continues to be a popular way of keeping the memory of a loved one alive. If you have a few strands of their hair, you can use it to create jewelry such as rings and pendants. Partners find this to be a lovely way of keeping the memory of their better half alive.

2. Plant A Tree

Planting a tree is an eco-friendly of memorializing a person. In fact, if your loved one has been cremated, you can bury their ashes in the backyard and install a fruiting or flowering tree in that spot. Once the tree grows and blooms, it creates a very pretty sight and can bring back memories of all the times that you have spent with that person.

3. Do Some Charity Work

If your loved one liked to make donations to a specific charity, you can continue this tradition in their memory after the service. In fact, volunteering at an old age home or donating some money to a local nonprofit organization is a great way to make a difference as well.

The idea of doing these things is to do things that will keep that person’s memory alive and it gives you a certain amount of solace as well. If you want to know more about our funeral services, we are at your service at Nutmeg State Cremation Society or through our contact us form.
