When it comes to planning a funeral service it can be on overwhelming and stressful time for everyone involved. Service Fees

Like any standard service, there is a service fee that changes based on each funeral home. Within that service fee it takes into account things such finding proper storage for the body of the deceased and for the transportation during the funeral process. Funeral directors all serve as a mediator or third party communicator between yourself and businesses to help make this process easier for you. They would be in contact with cemeteries or crematoriums, and they are also responsible for the legal side of the funeral as well. They fill out all the necessary paperwork for you, while making sure all the legalities are set in place. The service fee tends to be a charge a standard flat rate service fee, but that amount can vary from different funeral homes.

Services

There are several other fees when it comes to funeral services to consider:

• The cosmetic preparation of the body
• Embalming
• Purchasing of the casket or urn
• Transportation
• And use of funeral space for the service

Not all funeral homes will charge you for these individual services. However, it is important to ask these questions when planning the service.

The Burial Plot

Although many people choose and purchase their burial plot while they are still alive, in some instances that may not have happened and that is another charge to consider. When planning a burial plot before your death, you are taking off one final stress from your family. If a blot has not already been selected they can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand depending on location.

Miscellaneous Fees

Below is a list of other fees that may accrue while planning the service

• Floral arrangements
• Filing the obituary
• Caterers at the reception
• Paying for an officiant or priest
