Struggling to figure out how to take care of your dear ones' funeral arrangements? Do you need help deciding when and what kind of cremation container to use? Nutmeg State Cremation Society is here to assist you in any way we can.

What Are Cremation Containers?

Because the cremation container, typically made of cardboard, is used to hold the remains of your deceased loved one during the cremation process, you will not be able to reuse it afterward.

A cremation urn is necessary but will be burned up during the cremation process and serve no other purpose. Since a cremation container will only be used temporarily, that is how you should think of it.

What Are Urns?

After the cremation, your loved one's ashes will be placed in an urn, which can be made of marble, wood, or metal. After that, the urn can be chosen based on the family's wishes, such as if they plan to have a graveside service and place a headstone at the cemetery. One other option is to store the remains in a family home.

Which Should You Use?

Investigate your options for a respectful cremation service for your deceased loved one. Whether you need a short-term cremation container or a permanent urn, you can find what you need here.

Types of Cremation Urns

Confusion often arises during the cremation process because of the variety of possible cremation containers. These factors are highly individual, so you shouldn't rush to decide. This device comparison guide was written to help you make an informed choice. Yet, feel free to contact us whenever you have inquiries.

When Are Cremation Containers Required?

For the safety and convenience of the crematory operator, the deceased must have their body placed in a rigid, combustible container before it can be stored, lifted, or moved. There needs to be a seal so fluids from the body are kept inside. Don't rush past this thought; think about how dangerous and degrading life would be without them.

The "minimum alternative container" means what it says from a legal standpoint. FTC Funeral Rule mandates its availability. Similarly to how a burial coffin is used to present the deceased during viewing or visitation, a cremation coffin serves the same purpose.
