Memorial Tributes for Loved Ones

As you move forward in life after the loss of a loved one, there are ways you celebrate their life and do different activities to pay a tribute to the memory of them in your life. By honoring your loved one it is a way of keeping them a part of your life even though they are gone now. Here are different activities you and your family can do as a memorial tribute to your loved one that keeps them alive in your hearts.

Memory Wall: Gather old photos, concert tickets, clothing or accessories, or anything that you can put in a frame to be hung. Even if you slowly collect different memories of your loved one over time as you go through things and sort their items out, you can dedicate a day that you and your family do a memory wall. A memory wall is a reserved wall in your home that you and your family can design and hang framed memories up to have and to look at each and every time you pass it.

Charitable Events: If the deceased was very passionate about a charity or they were part of a church, take a day to volunteer your time and give back they did. If they donated funds to a specific charity, donate in their name as a tribute to your loved one.

Carry on Traditions: If you and your loved one had dinner every Sunday or had a tradition that you two shared, or even with the whole family, continue the tradition! Get together with your family on that same day every week and spend time together cooking a meal that your loved one really enjoyed and tell stories with each other.

Balloon Messages: Get the family together one day, perhaps the day of your loved one’s birthday, and send out messages into the sky. Get a bunch of balloons and have everyone write their own personal message they would wish to say to your loved one. You can go to a place that has a meaningful place in your heart, or even in your own backyard and let the balloon up into the sky.

Getting the family together or even personally doing a memorial tribute for your loved one may seem difficult at first. As time goes on you begin to create traditions amongst your family that will last a lifetime, the memory of your loved one will too.
