Many clients that we meet with at Nutmeg State Cremation Society believe that if they have a cremation, they cannot conduct a gathering, visitation, or service. This is a misconception and you can have any of these even when you opt for cremation.

Conducting A Visitation Or Service When You Choose Cremation

There are different ways in which you can conduct a gathering/service/visitation when you choose the cremation process. Let’s look at what they are:

  • If you have family members coming in before you cremate your loved one, you can get the body embalmed. It will help to preserve the mortal remains until your family members arrive.

  • You must plan everything well to make sure that the visitation runs as planned. Organize the embalming well in advance, as it will ensure that all your family members are able to visit and pay their last respects to the deceased.

  • The other option is to organize a gathering or service after the cremation. You will get the ashes and can keep these at the gathering or memorial service venue and your friends and family can attend the event.

As you can see, it is possible to have a gathering, visitation, or memorial service even when you choose cremation. These are the different options available to you after cremation. You can discuss your requirements with our experts. They will help you with the information needed and the process to follow based on your preferences.

They can also provide information about the different types of urns and you can select one according to your needs. Cremation is a comparatively new concept for many people and there are certain misconceptions and misunderstandings related to what the process involves. Nutmeg State Cremation Society offers start-to-end cremation services and can help you with all aspects of this process.
