Choosing a Cremation Casket

A cremation casket is a respectful way to transport the body before their remains go to the crematorium. It can be used at the funeral if one is held prior to the final disposition. Keeping the cremation process in view, the casket typically needs to be sans any metal components, leak-proof and rigid.

Cremation Casket Selection

Nutmeg State Cremation Society offers customized funeral services. Most people are not very clear about what is involved in cremation. Many also have questions about how to choose a cremation casket and here is some information that can help:

Material

There are different cremation casket materials that you can choose from, and since the casket would also be burnt with the remains, its best to look for something more eo-friendly. Some casket materials you can opt for include:

  • Wooden caskets (oak or mahogany among others)
  • Particle board containers are another affordable casket material.
  • Some people also use cardboard containers

Costs of Cremation Caskets

Cremation casket cost depends on the type you opt for and it can range from $40 to $6,000, based on what you select. If you are purchasing the casket from a third-party vendor, you’d also have to factor in the transportation cost. At a credible funeral home, the funeral director will provide you with all the information you need regarding the casket, materials, and costs.

Most funeral homes have a range of cremation caskets that you can purchase at reasonable prices. You can discuss your requirements with them and pick something that suits your requirements and fits your budget.

At Nutmeg State Cremation Society, we provide comprehensive cremation services and can help you with all aspects of the process so if you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Our funeral director will help you pick the right casket for your needs.
